Miss Tanya's Semi-Annual Recitals
The studio presents a full length recital twice each year, one in the summer and one in the fall. Each show has a theme that we do our best to carry through the performance. Since opening our doors in May 2008, we have successfully performed seventeen recitals. Our first, presented inside the aerobic room inside Galaxy Fitness in Phelan. for there, we moved our semi-annual recitals to the High Desert Center for the Arts on 8th street in Old Town Victorville.
Some past performances include;
..In the Fall of 2015, Nightmare Revisited, A presentation of Nightmare Before Christmas in dance form, allowed the students to take on such complicated characters as, Oogie Boogie and Jack Skellington! this fun and unique show was one our all time favorites.
..Summer 2016, we presented Under the Sea. An underwater themed show, featuring music from some of our favorite ocean friends, such as Dori and Marlin, Ariel and Sebastian, and even a visit from Lilo and Stitch!
..In Fall November 2016, we took on Pocahontas. Moving our performances to the Serrano High School Performing Art Center in Phelan California has opened up a whole new world of possibilities for the studio and our students.
Pixar Parade, our Summer 10th Anniversary Recital was a success! the wonderful people who helped design and create our amazing props must be miracle workers. The stage was transformed into a whimsical Parade route complete with sky and sparkling clouds. The dancers portraying Buzz and Woody put on a spectacular performance and there were even a few appearances by Merida and the Incredibles.
Each Year we do a number of Fundraisers for our competition team. this year we are heading into competition season with a few new faces and more dances than ever before. Though we enjoy our team and work hard to send them to competition each year, we want the experience to be fun and educational for our dancers. All the studio/rehearsal time for the team is donated by the staff to help improve the dancer's performance. we fundraise for all our costumes and competition fees each year. One of our favorite ways to do this, is by putting on a holiday tea party in December each year.
Information about our next fundraiser will be posted soon.
